{For some time, the official online home of "The Icon" Chris Lee sat virtually dormant. However, with the recent news of Chris Lee's return to World Pro Wrestling and the All-Time TV Title bout, traffic has picked up. Various professional wrestling news sites caught wind of a recent blog update on Lee's official website. A significant news splash for an organization in desperate need of one, various wrestling news groups have posted the blog in its entirety.}
This is what World Pro Wrestling has come to?
Chris Lee returns, makes it clear he is entering the All-Time TV Title match at GoldPush 55, plainly calls out Sebastian and pokes a little fun at WpW’s village idiot Firebomb. The response…crickets…
That, admittedly, is a hard pill to swallow. An organization that has taken so much from me and so many others, a organization so rich in tradition and the general attitude around this place is ate up with “don’t give a damn”.
Is there any, any at all, pride left in what at one time was the premier professional wrestling organization in the world? Does anybody remember those days, the excitement, the following…what it meant to work for World Pro Wrestling? The answer appears to be a resounding NO!
The current state of affairs appears to be a bad one. The general state of the locker room appears to be piss-poor. I assume too many people with too many dollar bills are sitting on their plump asses thinking about the drinking and dancing and all the other bullshit that goes hand in hand with life as a professional wrestler. Everything, that is, but the actual product itself.
I guess that’s where “The Icon” has always been different. To me, its always mattered inside the ring. The product we give the fans…the people that matter…the match, the atmosphere, the effort. There ain’t a soul in World Pro Wrestling that can question the absolute effort I gave every single time I entered the ring. Where is that in today’s World Pro Wrestling?
Today, people like Sebastian are responsible for representing the entire organization. Sebastian, a guy clamoring about ushering in a ‘New Era’, is laid up somewhere…perhaps balls deep in Lucy U…telling everybody about that big match he won and how he’s going to combat the ‘old school’ in WpW. Well, if being a complete f*cking mute at a period of time the organization is desperate for some direction is considered the ‘New Era’ thing to do…then Sebastian can shove that up his Armani ass.
World Pro Wrestling isn’t in need of some ‘New Era’. WpW is in need of some tried-and-true talent. The organization is in need of dedicated workers, true professionals, people with respect for the industry and everything it entails. World Pro Wrestling needs Chris Lee. “The Icon” has long-ago passed the flash-in-the-pan status carried by far too many in WpW. To hell with this ‘New Era’…a little respect, hard work, and honest to god passion for the business is what World Pro Wrestling really needs right now. Guess who brings that to the table?
My issues with World Pro Wrestling’s current state lie on far more shoulders than those of Sebastian. I consider guys like Firebomb and SST personally responsible, too. Two of the flagship members of World Pro Wrestling, the World Champ and Big Gold Champ, have contributed NOTHING of note to the organization. Firebomb is carrying the biggest strap in the business, which is shocking, because prior to beating Mike Sensation the only thing Firebomb won were Special Olympic events. SST, well…to be frank…nobody would give a damn about SST if it wasn’t for SBK.
Perhaps that’s the real issue in WpW right now. People, who simply aren’t capable, are trying to lead an organization desperate for direction. Sebastian can’t lead WpW anywhere. His entire being is consumed with proving something to SBK…who I doubt gives a damn. SST can’t lead WpW, he couldn’t even find his own star in World Pro Wrestling until SBK slide out the side door. Firebomb, he damn sure can’t lead World Pro Wrestling. He couldn’t lead a damn dog with a leash.
Chris Lee, fans…he can lead World Pro Wrestling. The former WpW Big Gold, All-Time TV, Fed Cup Champion can lead WpW from the depths it’s currently facing. Unlike the current “top level”…and that term is used loosely…talent, I pride myself on putting on a good show. I live for the electricity you find when you walk through that curtain and into the living room and lives of millions and millions of people.
Things didn’t get this way overnight and they can’t be fixed overnight. However, a Chris Lee victory over Sebastian at GoldPush 55 will go a long way to righting a series of wrongs in World Pro Wrestling. Things may look bleak now, WpW fans…but you’ll always have an “Icon”

{Obviously distrubed by World Pro Wrestling's current state of affairs, what does GoldPush 55 have in store for the returning star? Perhaps a second stint as All-Time TV champion?}
