The kid simply known as Marquee has been making a name for himself at the WPW House Shows lately. Not only by winning matches, but by some vicious attacks on the other superstars. Now, he's set up to face the former ML:XL World Champion Tommy "The Scorpion" Kurinto at the Wrestival Five Preshow.
It was intended for Marquee to stop his Wrestival showing there, but he felt there was no way he could pass up being on the biggest show of them all. So at the grandfather of WPW shows, he'll be a part of the Grab For Grudge ladder match. That match could spark his career on WPW television before it even has a chance to take off. But to do that, Marquee has to get by T-Bomb. Yet another former ML:XL World Champion.
The "war against the Tommys" is about to begin.
Miami has been the center of alot of wrestling business as of late. The home of past and present WPW superstars: Firebomb, Shawn Stryker, Angel, Tony Ruiz, Tommy Kurinto, and more. Miami is also the current hometown for Marquee, recently moving from Atlanta, which he came to from Chicago.
Marquee is sitting in his condo apartment at Sunny Isles Beach. His grey dress pants pressed to perfection. His bright red dress shirt, and red and black tie set in a military knot. His black vest buttoned all the way up. His brown short fauxhawk spiked to a "Jersey" perfection. Marquee stares out the bay window onto the ocean, as an open half packed suitcase sits at his feet. Two chocolate labradore puppies run around in a playful mood. Marquee stops to pet them, picks up a tumbler glass filled with a white Russian on the rocks. Marquee takes a sip, then speaks.
Marquee: Just about to head out to Detroit. A short jetride away from the starting point of my destiny to become the biggest and most decorated superstar in WPW history. I've got business waiting for me as soon as I step foot on Michigen soil. From paperwork, to promotions, to photo opportunities. I'll be attending the Wrestival 5 fan axess to sign autographs. Then on to two matches. It'll be a long week, but it'll be the greatest week of my life thus far.
Marquee takes another drink, and moves over to the black urban leather sofa.
Marquee: First off, as part of the Wrestival 5 Preshow to face the former ML World Champion Tommy Kurinto. Kurinto asked for this match personally. Benjamin Silverman thought it would make for a great match to get people in the mood for Wrestival. I agreed. Anything showcasing myself will be top notch quality. Kurinto though on the other hand made a mistake. Maybe the chairshot I gave him in Chicago gave him brain damage. Kurinto just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was just another victim to see that I'm not playing around with my fame that's about to come. Maybe he's pissed because of the news of Osama's death. I'm not sure, but either way he should have never even dreamed of wanting to face me. Not that I care either way. Kurinto will make a nice stepping stone on the way to the top.
Marquee leans back and props his black square toed dress shoes on a glass and steel coffee table.
Marquee: That's enough about that though. The preshow is just a warmup anyway. The real match for me will be the Grab For Grudge match. That leads me to the second Tommy. Tommy Commito....T-Bomb. I guess the cat is out of the bag now. The plan was for me to keep it a secret that I am a member of the Commito family. Tommy, you were always the dumbest of the family. My dad always told me that you wouldn't amount to anything compared to the rest of the family. Only reason you've gotten as far as you have so far is because you're dad is constantly pulling strings for you. Those days are over though TomTom. Daddy's got his own thing going on at Wrestival. He's fighting in the Fed Cup, then against four other stars in the main event. He won't have the time or energy to help out his baby boy.
Marquee takes another drink and smiles.
Marquee: And cousin Robbie has his hands full with The Phil and Apollo Creed. He never liked you anyway. See Robbie is high class like me. He lives the fabulous lifestyle like me. TomTom you are the black sheep of this family. The low class of this family. The outcast of this family. And since you wanted to put your name in against me for the Grab For Grude, you'll be the only person in this family to lose at Wrestival 5.
Another smirk as Marquee holds his fingers up and begins to count on them.
Marquee: Firebomb will win the Fed Cup to start the night off. Angel will destroy Lilly. Rob Jr. will win the Continental title, and your pops will win again the main event. Wrestival is an all Commito family event, and once again the outcast will be poor TomTom. This time it won't be because of the stupid clothes you wear or the stupid mixed martial arts stuff you are so worried about. This time you'll be the outcast because you'll be the only Commito to lose at Wrestival, and it'll be because you chose the wrong damn match to get in.
Marquee puts his hand down and sits forward a little bit.
Marquee: TomTom, this is my destiny. My destiny to not only be as successful as Firebomb, but to surpass him. I'll start that by winning the Grab For Grude match against you TomTom. I've always been more talented then you TomTom. I'm just getting a little later start than you. See, TomTom, while you were hanging out in Japanese geisha houses, and chasing some pipe dream of being an MMA fighter, I was in Chicago helping my dad take care of family business. While you were running around thinking you were top sh*t in Major League, I was in Atlanta making sure that the DJ's and dancers aren't taking money off the top. I'm not going to say that it's been hard for me. It wasn't. I've earned alot of money over the last few years, and earned alot of money for the family over the last few years, but I didn't get to do what you guys were doing. Don't you think I wanted in the wrestling business? Don't you think I wanted the spotlight that you didn't deserve TomTom?
Marquee gets a bit more serious.
Marquee: It's okay though TomTom. I'm not planning on doing something like I did to Ulie Red or EB Marcus or Tommy Kurinto to you. I'm not trying to end your career. I may need you one day. Even dumbasses have their place in a family like ours. You're just in the way of my destiny. You're just going to be a stepping stone like Tommy Kurinto. And next year another Commito will headline Wrestival, and that will be me TomTom, because by then I'll be the World Heavyweight Champion and you're dad can retire happy knowing that a Commito with talent will keep the legacy going. TomTom, you can hate me now.
Marquee stands up and walks over to the suitcase, checks everything and then zips it up.
Marquee: Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a jet to catch. It's time for destiny to begin.
