Frost- The Wrestling Legend
After a hiatus from a near career ending injury, The People’s Champion returns to the squared circle.
Dan Patrick: Does it feel awkward returning to the sport that nearly ruined your life?
Frost: I wouldn’t say it nearly ruined my life, instead I would say that someone tried to end my career. The misconception about professional wrestling is that it’s far too violent and not worth the risk, in fact it’s the complete opposite. Yeah there are times when you can get hurt, but the positives outweigh the negatives more times than none.
Dan Patrick: Would you still like to find out who was the culprit?
Frost: Without question, I feel that karma is a you know what. He will get his and I guarantee he will find out why I’m called the God of Wrestling.
Dan Patrick: What brought you to finally decide to come back to the wrestling world?
Frost: Well, I’ve had a lot of time to heal and I’ve discussed the possibilities of returning to the ring full time, when the Hybrid Wrestling Organization closed down, two close friends of mine contacted me asking if I had any interest in returning to the ring and in a company that was attempting to revitalize itself. I did my research on the company and saw it to be a good fit. Another thing was the itch to wrestle once more, you see it all the time in every sport. Randy Moss returned to football after a short retirement, so did Jordan and a handful of other athletes. Sometimes performers return to win gold, while others do it for the love of the game, I’m returning for the latter.
Dan Patrick: What drives that passion to succeed at the highest level?
Frost: Competition without a shadow of a doubt. If you’re not a competitor, you’re not a true athlete, you’re just settling for second best.
Dan Patrick: Speaking of second best, everyone has you pegged as the runner up for the Roy Lee Rumble in your debut match, is that fair?
Frost: Truthfully it’s unacceptable, I’ve proven my worth on more than one occasion, but at the same time I’m not surprised. Many people have Nathan Lucas pegged to go all the way simply because he’s been dominating the majority of the clowns already employed here, we will see what happens when the two of us tangle for the first time, it should be fun.
Dan Patrick: Did your older brother Ocean or your younger brother Evan give you any advice about the match? Being that Evan won a match with similar stipulations, I would assume he’d have a lot of tips for you.
Frost: Well honestly, my younger brother and I barely see eye to eye but I’ve been doing a lot of training with my older brother who I taught at my wrestling school.
Dan Patrick: How many students do you have at your school?
Frost: I have three graduates and currently I have two students. One was a former contestant on Proving Ground Season 2, and the other has virtually no experience but has loads of potential.
Dan Patrick: Marquee didn’t seem too happy about ESPN First Take with Stephen A Smith and Jay Bayless discussing you and only you on their show along with Michael Wilbon and Tony on Pardon the Interruption.
Frost: He’s just a jealous guy, he would love to be in my shoes but unfortunately for him, I’m the guy that’s taking away from his spotlight which was very dim to begin with. He wants to walk around and say “Look at me, I’m a professional wrestler!” there’s a difference between saying and doing and I’ll leave it at that.
Dan Patrick: Many people would love to see you and Drifter go at it sometime in the near future, is this just a dream match since the two of you are wrestling royalty and the both of you have Hall of Fame rings in the HWO?
Frost: Drifter is an heck of an athlete, he’s done it all and then some in this business, I would love to face him sometime in the future.
Dan Patrick: Do you sometimes wear your Hall of Fame Ring?
Frost: It depends on the occasion. If I’m going to a wrestling banquet then I will, but if it’s something like a date, I won’t. But who knows, winning the Roy Lee Rumble and becoming the World Champion would mean that I will have another ring to add, the WPW World Championship ring which is one dazzling award in its own right.
Dan Patrick: Do you believe the NBA Finals are pretty much wrapped up?
Frost: Yeah, and I’m glad. A lot of Canadian’s are still upset about Bosh leaving to go to South Beach but not a lot of American’s will talk about it since it’s always been the hate on LeBron show. I’m still a huge Bosh fan and I want James to win one so his critics can shut up. I guarantee they’ll close out the series tomorrow night and if not then I’ll give you my Hall of Fame Ring.
Dan Patrick: Are you sure you want to do that?
Frost: You see, the thing is, nobody will know if I shook on it or not being that this is going to be an article in the Sports Illustrated Magazine.
Dan Patrick: But you practically just gave yourself away.
Frost: But we didn’t shake on it either way so I’m in the clear.
Dan Patrick: How much is that ring worth?
Frost: More than you’ll make in this lifetime.
